Who runs this site
TribeTale is operated by Codas Labs, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. This policy describes the marketing website; the app privacy policy covers the TribeTale iPhone app. Account sign-up happens in the product app; this site has no forms. Contact links open your email app.
Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics 4 measures page views and site use. Its script loads on every public page. Google Consent Mode defaults analytics and advertising storage and signals to denied for EU/EEA, UK and Swiss visitors using Google's IP region detection. Google may receive cookieless pings whenever analytics consent is denied, including before you choose and after you reject; loading the script does not itself grant cookie consent.
When advertising is allowed, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, X and LinkedIn Insight receive information to measure our ads and show our ads to people who visited this site (retargeting). TikTok Pixel may be added later; it is currently disabled. This information can include page visits, browser and device information, IP addresses and cookie identifiers.
Only Meta, Google and TikTok tags may use automatic advanced matching, controlled by their platform settings and only when advertising is allowed. Where consent is required, this happens only after Accept. On a page with a form, these tags may convert an entered email address, phone number or name to a hashed (scrambled) value in the browser to match it to an account and measure ads. This marketing site has no forms and sends no sign-up or lead conversion events. Our conversion helper permits only a form name, never personal information. We do not send form information to X or LinkedIn for matching.
Reject, an advertising opt-out or Global Privacy Control prevents advertising collection and matching. We do not sell personal information for money, but advertising pixels may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under US state privacy laws.
Your choices
Visitors in EU/EEA, UK, Swiss and associated timezones get an Accept or Reject choice first. Reject is the decline option and denies analytics and advertising consent. Unknown or ambiguous timezones, including UTC and GMT, also require Accept before advertising loads. Elsewhere, advertising loads by default unless you have rejected, opted out or enabled Global Privacy Control.
Use Do not sell or share my personal information to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising, including in the United States. This saves your choice for this site and browser, denies Google advertising signals and reloads the page to stop already-loaded pixels. A dismissible confirmation appears once. Global Privacy Control (GPC) is honored as an advertising opt-out, and remains in force even after Accept. An advertising opt-out does not turn off analytics.
Cookie choices clears your saved cookie choice and reloads the page; where the banner appears, choose Reject to withdraw analytics and advertising consent. Clearing browser site data resets your saved choices. Choices apply to this site and browser, not automatically to the product app or other Codas sites. You can also adjust ad personalization in your platform accounts. If JavaScript is unavailable, enable GPC in a supported browser or contact us for help.
What your browser stores
When allowed, GA4 uses _ga and _ga_*; Google Ads uses _gcl_*; Meta uses _fbp; TikTok may use _ttp if enabled; X uses _twclid and muc_ads; LinkedIn uses li_*, bcookie and lidc. The cookie policy explains their purposes and approximate lifetimes.
Your cookie choice is stored in localStorage under tribetale_consent_v1, and your advertising opt-out under tribetale_ads_optout_v1. A temporary sessionStorage marker, tribetale_ads_optout_notice_v1, shows the confirmation once after an opt-out reload.
